My Story
Hello, my name is Dakota and I am the owner of Spain Bridge Farm. I come from a background in health and fitness and have always been drawn to the nutritional aspect of living well. After graduating from the University of Texas with a degree in Kinesiology, my goal was to improve the health of as many people as possible.

While working in the fitness industry I realized that the true foundation of health -both physical and mental- starts with the food that you eat. My gardening journey began in 2022 with 3 pepper plants in a small grow tent. I was instantly hooked. As I began to grow more plants my interest in agriculture deepened, prompting me to continue my education in Controlled Environment Agriculture at Santa Fe Community College. By the time my two semester program ended, I had developed several vertical hydroponic systems throughout my apartment, growing nearly 300 plants at a time in just 100 square feet. In an attempt to expand my hydroponic offerings I moved out of the city of Santa Fe to an off-grid property which operated as a lavender farm. There, I spent a year learning what it takes to run an independent farm while gaining crucial hands-on experience with traditional soil agriculture. Despite the properties ability to sustain the cultivation of lavender, the limitations of being off-grid ultimately prevented my hopes of a dedicated hydroponic produce facility.

The culmination of these past four years of dedication to agriculture lead me to Spain Bridge Farm. Being able to work with the Earth, in nature and provide healthy and nutritious food locally is a dream of mine. I look forward to meeting each of you and supporting our community the best way I can.
